What does dynamic IP address mean?

June 26, 2012 by Rick Hernandez Leave a Comment

This can a be a tricky questions to answer, but this is my best answer that i can com up with. A dynamic Internet protocol address is a temporary number (can not stress this enough) assigned to your computer by your service provider or ISP. This number or “address” allows other on the Internet to communicate with your computer. A dynamic IP is typically assigned for a certain length of time after which the address is returned to a pool of IP addresses. The next time you log on or begin a new session, a new dynamic IP will be assigned. This is the reason why you need address resolution.
