Hey, it’s Rick. I wanted to go ahead and create this blog post specifically for any of my friends that want to join me on a March challenge. Now, I’m going to be here doing a March challenge where you have to record a video every single day and publish that video for 30 days. I’m going to be doing here that for the month of March and it’s going to be pretty fun, so let’s go ahead and get into it.
How does it work? It’s pretty straight forward. All you have to do is just pretty much record a video for 30 days, and then at the end of the 30 days, you have essentially completed the challenge. Here’s the deal. If you skip any of the days or you miss any of the days, you have to start over from day zero and then go back up to 30 days, and hopefully, build a habit of publishing videos. Now, you must be asking,
“Rick, why in the world would you want to publish videos? What if you have nothing to say? What if people make fun of you? What if people call you names or whatever? What if you get trolled online?”
That’s frankly one of the funniest, interesting parts of publishing content is that other people are actually going to be able to criticize you. Other people going to be able to say,
“Oh look, you’re doing this completely wrong”
or
“You’re doing a great job.”
Whatever it might be, you actually get feedback.
That’s really beneficial for anybody out there that wants to do any sort of actual promotion or marketing of your services or essentially put your name out there. This is why I’m going to be doing the challenge. That’s the main reason for me to do the challenge, is to one, build consistency and two, start getting a little bit more comfortable being in front of the camera.
Now, this might shock some of you, but it’s actually a skill that you need to have in order for you to be able to actually present any sort of message to an actual audience.
That’s essentially why I’m going to be doing this challenge, is to get a little bit better with my public speaking skills, get rid of the “Ums”, get rid of the “uhs” and get better at presenting overall. If you want to join me on the challenge, you can go ahead and just join me, send me a Tweet and then hopefully you’ll be able to actually talk to me or anybody else that joins into the challenge and be able to actually publish a video every single day.
That’s the entire point of the challenge here is to get you uncomfortable being comfortable.
That’s the goal of the challenge. All right, so I know you must be saying, “Rick, that’s a lot of videos. Where are you going to get so much content? How are you going to be able to publish all those videos? Where are you going to get all these different ideas of actually creating videos to record?” It’s actually pretty easy. You just ask people. I actually posted on a Facebook on a simple question. I was like,
“Hey, if anybody has any questions for me, go ahead and ask at codewithintent.com/question, and I’ll go ahead and answer your question with a video.”
If you’re reading this blog post and you have a question such as, “Rick, what if I Look silly? Rick what if I don’t have an expensive camera? Rick what if blah, blah, blah?” Whatever your questions might be, hit me up at codewithintent.com/question and I will answer that question with a video. Remember, this is the entire point of the challenge is to publish 30 videos and build a consistent habit where you’d be able to actually publish more videos and be a lot more comfortable communicating a message to anybody else.
That’s it for this blog post. Hopefully, you found it useful. If you did, make sure you leave a comment below. Subscribe to the blog, because I’m going to be releasing 30 new videos. Are they all going to be technical? Probably not.
There you have it, talk to you soon.
