When would the day come where you just click one button and your audio for your audio turns into a magical sound that your audience loves? Well, the technology is not quite there, but it’s getting close. In this tutorial, we will cover how you can quickly create the BEST audio performance you can get out of your existing equipment.
Before we begin, go and download Audacity, it’s FREE software developed by volunteers. You can find a version for either, Windows, OSX, or Linux. Once you have the software installed and configured you are ready to get started using the software to create clean audio.
To be able to remember how to do this process, again and again, you just have to be able to recall “CENN”.
Let’s break down the acronym.
- Compress Audio
- Equalize
- Noise Removal
- Normalize
Now each of the parts
Compress Audio
Click on Effect
Click on Compressor from the drop-down
Change Threshold to a value between 15-20
Equalize
Click on Effect
Click on Equalization from dropdown
Select Bass Boost from Select Curve
Click on OK
Click on Effect
Click on Equalization from the drop-down
Select Treble Boost from Select Curve
Click on OK
Noise Removal
Click on Effect
Click on Noise Removal from the drop-down
Click on Get Noise Profile
Next
Click on Effect
Click on Noise Reduction from the drop-down
Click on OK
Normalize
Click on Effect
Click on Normalize
Leave all the fields as is
Click on OK
