Flowcharting

Terminator (Terminal Point, Oval) Terminators show the start and stop points in a process. When used as a Start symbol, terminators depict a trigger action that sets the process flow into motion. Think about this like the complete beginning of a program or stop points in a process.

The Data flowchart shape indicates inputs to and outputs from a process. As such, the shape is more often referred to as an I/O shape than a Data shape. “I/O” input output data shape that is used to represent data flow for the inputs and outputs.

Decisions: Indicates a question or branch in the process flow. Typically, a Decision flowchart shape is used when there are 2 options (Yes/No, No/No-Go, etc.) This symbol is used when flow charting a decision that has to be carried out.

Show a Process or action step. This is the most common symbol in both process flowcharts and process maps. This could encapsulate other information to show in a flowchart a processes of something happening. The compiler will go threw and do the order of operations.
